Professional Audio

“My cousin can videotape the wedding.”You can’t leave sound to chance!

To pick up the sound of this bride tearing up required one microphone on the DJ, one wireless microphone on the groom standing nearby, and one microphone to pick up the grandparents chocking up as she is seen here thanking them

This is what the audience heard.

Even though there was a DJ who furnished speakers and a microphone for the minister, this is what the audience heard.

Notice the sound of cars, and the sound of the cooling fans. The groom is almost audible and the bride is not heard at all.

This is what the DVD viewers heard.

Despite the sound of cars and cooling fans, the groom, bride, as well as the minister are heard clearly.

After all that you will have spent on this special day, you will only have your pictures and video to help remember it. Only the video will capture your vows, toasts, and laughter. If your cousin misses them – they are missed forever

Perfecting Sound with Microphones

Professional use of microphones is a key to preserving your memories in a wedding DVD.

All Together for the DVD

Here is an example of three microphones.

Each microphone was strategically placed before the wedding and tested for correct loudness and sensitivity.

During the ceremony, each microphone was recorded to its own channel and preserved.

During the editing process a perfect blend of microphone mixture was meticulously performed to catch the nuance of the strings and the dynamic range of the soloist.

Try listening to each individual microphone one at a time and compare them to the final composition:

Above: This is how the audience heard it. Notice the background noise & echo.

Above: Soloist Only. Notice how clear her voice is with the microphone.

Above: Musicians Only. Notice the sweet strings vibrating.
