Next weekend is the Dallas Bridal Show 2011. If this will be your first bridal show in Dallas, check out 5 bridal show tips from LeniCam Video Productions, a DFW wedding videographer.

1. Figure out your entire wedding budget before you go. Then list the wedding services, such as a DFW wedding videographer, that you both want to have. Assign a tentative budget for each service so when you visit vendors at the bridal show in Dallas you can easily pass over the services that cost more than your estimated budget.
2. Bring your own canvas bag or a backpack to the show.  Have your friend or family member carry one bag and you carry another one. Put materials from the companies you are actually interested in into your bag and put everything else in your friend’s bag. This will make sorting through materials much easier when you get home.
3. Consider making business cards or stickers that have your contact information and key details about the wedding such as time, date and venue. If a vendor is not available on your date, keep walking!
4. If you’ve already purchased your dress, skip the fashion show and instead spend time talking to vendors that will be available to answer your questions one on one. You may even be able to negotiate a special deal.
5. Follow up with vendors ASAP, since other brides will be booking their services, not just you.  It’s also easier to remember which companies you clicked with right after the bridal show in Dallas.

- How long have they been in business?

- How is the sound on the videos?
Sometimes slow motion, sappy songs and fancy transitions can mask a fundamental problem: the videographer didn’t capture what was heard. A professional wedding videographer will have wireless microphones on at least the officiant and groom as well as a direct feed from any music sources.

- Do they have recommendations or testimonials?

Look on their website or email them directly to get testimonials from other couples. You want the videographer to be the expert and take care of all the technical details but also connect with you and understand what you want your wedding video to be.

If you’re considering having your Dallas wedding video professionally recorded, but you’re afraid you can’t justify the expense, read on for all the advantages of professional videography. There are a lot of people who say they can’t see spending the money on a video of their wedding day when they’re sure they’ll only watch it once or twice before setting it aside, forgotten. According to many customers who have made the investment, they couldn’t be farther from the truth – their videos are priceless family heirlooms.

The people who can’t justify the expense say that they could have a friend or family member record the video for them. Hand held cameras are relatively inexpensive and record high quality video these days, and just about everyone has one. Why not save the money and let your friend record the video? This might work for an extremely small ceremony, but for most weddings you would need a professional for the high quality you want. There are a variety of reasons that hand held cameras and hobbyists aren’t capable of doing justice to the average wedding.

The first reason is audio quality. A hand held camera only has one audio source – the microphone on the camera itself. This allows the videographer to capture every word of the vows, every word the officiant says and the music of the ceremony clearly so that it translates beautifully to your video.

Another reason is lighting. Often, hobbyists don’t know much about lighting, and aren’t equipped to work with the lighting they have or provide light of their own. A professional, on the other hand will know how to work with the lighting conditions they’re given and be prepared, if needed, to provide their own lighting to ensure that the shots come out beautifully.

Probably the biggest reason to hire a professional, however, is production. An amateur will simply hand you the disc they used to record the proceedings. A professional will have the equipment to go to their studio and spend hours editing and forming the final video into something more than simply a document of the wedding. They can add special soundtracks, use special effects to highlight certain parts and stitch the video together in a coherent story. You’ll have more than a document of your wedding, you’ll have a one of a kind work of art made specifically to commemorate your wedding day that way it should be. Your Dallas wedding videos will become more than a documentary; they’ll be a priceless family heirloom to pass to generations coming.
